Pablo Valente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Anibal Libertad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Santiago Ruisko in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anibal Libertad prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Angel Belmiro hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Arnulfo Chorache was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 44th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Nereo Handi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Harriet having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santiago Ruisko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Nereo Handi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nereo Handi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute, Zacarias Micael hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Elpidio Munio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Augusto Harriet was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Anibal Libertad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santiago Ruisko, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute.
