After a defensive mix-up in Mogotes's zone, Gerardo Corderun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrian Quinto came out of the goal and Gerardo Corderun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gerardo Corderun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Adrian Quinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 59 minutes, Virgilio Porfirio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mogotes and the LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Mogotes getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Virgilio Porfirio hit a great ball. Gerardo Corderun spun around in front of the goal 61 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Mogotes's goal. In the 64th minute Lorenzo Lore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Luzea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerardo Corderun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Adrian Quinto made a huge save. Rogelio Luzea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horacio Eyague, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Guaberto Bortzaioriz's late challenge caught a Mogotes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guaberto Bortzaioriz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mogotes booed when LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position.
