The coaching staff of Union de Santa Fe protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Orlando Arano had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Union de Santa Fe fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! Eloy Rami had in the 19thth minute some difficulties stopping Eulalio Dalmau's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 26 minutes, Pastor Ekialde mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Union de Santa Fe and the Patoruzu FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes Union de Santa Fe got a freekick which was hit by Pastor Ekialde. When Leopoldo Lertxun came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Patoruzu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Lertxun couldn't finish the play. Filiberto Seguinus kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. When Saverio Procopio was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 29 minutes had been played. The supporters of Union de Santa Fe booed when Patoruzu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saverio Procopio didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Ferdinand in the 32nd minute of play forced Union de Santa Fe's goalkeeper Eloy Rami to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Jairo Ferdinand dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eloy Rami, 3-0. In the 36thth minute of the game Pastor Ekialde who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Patoruzu FC's Jonathan Azibar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Jairo Ferdinand could shoot a difficult shot in the 41st minute, which Eloy Rami however easily saved by the left post. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pastor Ekialde made a kick off. After having played for 58 minutes, Pastor Ekialde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Union de Santa Fe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pastor Ekialde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th minute, Samuel Erasto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Virgilio Bela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patoruzu FC's Leopoldo Lertxun got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eloy Rami took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Lertxun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filiberto Seguinus kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Union de Santa Fe's zone, Leopoldo Lertxun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eloy Rami came out of the goal and Leopoldo Lertxun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute, Patoruzu FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Pastor Ekialde fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 86th match minute, Union de Santa Fe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Erasto to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute Leopoldo Lertxun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Rami saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
