Filomeno Gorbea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaston Elizardo's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Gaston Elizardo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filomeno Gorbea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Filomeno Gorbea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruben Toli in the 9th minute of the match. Gaston Elizardo struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Filomeno Gorbea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Petroquimica. Teofilo Bernebe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filomeno Gorbea having to interfere. Petroquimica's Teofilo Bernebe got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaston Elizardo in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filomeno Gorbea saved Merluza De Barranquilla from getting behind. Gaston Elizardo in the 18thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Filomeno Gorbea, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 19 played minutes Petroquimica got a freekick which was hit by Saul Justin. After 20 played minutes, Merluza De Barranquilla's Artemio Dolfo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Armando Marquez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Merluza De Barranquilla reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Gaston Elizardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Petroquimica's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaston Elizardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filomeno Gorbea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Silvano Phelipe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filomeno Gorbea having to interfere. With his leg Filomeno Gorbea managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Petroquimica's Gaston Elizardo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Gaston Elizardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 30th minute, Silvano Phelipe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Petroquimica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. If Teofilo Bernebe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruben Toli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Silvano Phelipe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaston Elizardo made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Petroquimica's Silvano Phelipe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Filomeno Gorbea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After some careless play in the Merluza De Barranquilla defense, Gaston Elizardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filomeno Gorbea. The Merluza De Barranquilla fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filomeno Gorbea should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaston Elizardo in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filomeno Gorbea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 71st minute, Artemio Dolfo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luo Rong scored 5-0 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Filomeno Gorbea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Santos Mirande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filomeno Gorbea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruben Toli in the 78th minute of the match. Teofilo Bernebe took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filomeno Gorbea. Filomeno Gorbea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Petroquimica's Armando Marquez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Petroquimica from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Gaston Elizardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Petroquimica's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaston Elizardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filomeno Gorbea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Merluza De Barranquilla's goalkeeper Filomeno Gorbea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Petroquimica's Ruben Toli got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ruben Toli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filomeno Gorbea having to interfere. Petroquimica walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
