But to his dismay, Jimeno Caton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Union de Santa Fe's Eloy Rami played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristobal Beltza in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of Union de Santa Fe booed when Renegados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusebio Sotil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Union de Santa Fe's Atilano Bazkoare quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Primitivo Anaya, made in the 33rd minute of the game. Eloy Rami took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristobal Beltza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samuel Erasto made a kick off. Samuel Erasto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 56 minutes into the game, Primitivo Anaya threw the ball into play from the sideline. Union de Santa Fe's Efrain Ondino quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Clodio Aguilo hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Union de Santa Fe's Eloy Rami got control of the ball when Humberto Roderigo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 79th minute, Pastor Ekialde got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Pastor Ekialde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Although Union de Santa Fe had been in control for most of the match, Renegados still came away with the win.
