In the 12th minute, Luis Dodorol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Colmena's Elpidio Elequemedo got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Union de Santa Fe's zone, Amancio Favila stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eloy Rami came out of the goal and Amancio Favila tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Colmena's Luis Dodorol in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Union de Santa Fe's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Luis Dodorol managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colmena's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Dodorol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eloy Rami breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Samuel Erasto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zeledon Goyo. That made the score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. Eloy Rami showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Dodorol, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Eloy Rami showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Elequemedo in the 30th minute of the match. After 31 played minutes Union de Santa Fe got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Ondino. Eloy Rami stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Dodorol's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Pastor Ekialde managed to get in a good position for a shot. Union de Santa Fe's supporters rose to their feet, but Pastor Ekialde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeledon Goyo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Elpidio Elequemedo came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Colmena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Elequemedo couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Elpidio Elequemedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Eloy Rami tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enrique Betadur's late challenge caught a Union de Santa Fe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enrique Betadur helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Colmena getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Enrique Betadur hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Union de Santa Fe's Efrain Ondino in action when he in the 59th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Elpidio Elequemedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Eloy Rami made a huge save. In the 66th minute, Samuel Erasto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pastor Ekialde's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zeledon Goyo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Eloy Rami made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elpidio Elequemedo in the 76th minute. Eloy Rami showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Felo in the 78th minute of the match. If Samuel Erasto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Union de Santa Fe's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Felo came free, but Eloy Rami reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Union de Santa Fe booed when Colmena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amancio Lluis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eloy Rami was a little too slow when Luis Dodorol got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 1-2.
