Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cesar Rojelio ran back to his position shaking his head. Dante Sadurni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elias Gervaso, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. If Eloy Gora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. bajada's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Elias Gervaso 18 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 20th minute, Norberto Ruy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Americo Arotza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. bajada's Dante Sadurni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Heli in the 26th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as River Plate's Elias Gervaso slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dante Sadurni. That made the score 2-0 after 29 minutes of play. Eloy Gora blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Americo Arotza having to make a save. 45 minutes into the match, River Plate's Cesar Rojelio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Sadurni narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elias Gervaso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, bajada's Jeremias Petri got a free kick in the 51st minute. Gervasio Duarte charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gervasio Duarte the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to bajada getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Gervasio Duarte hit a great ball. In the 56th minute, Cesar Rojelio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Eloy Orlanda fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored bajada's protests and gave Eloy Orlanda a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th minute, Elias Gervaso made a precise shot to the right of Dante Sadurni. bajada's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gau in the 73rd minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Americo Arotza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cesar Rojelio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Sadurni read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Dante Sadurni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesar Rojelio in the 77th minute of play. In the 80th minute Cesar Rojelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Sadurni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by bajada's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Damian Benvide was slow to take the kick. During this time River Plate's players had a chance to rest. The corner led River Plate's Damian Benvide to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Sadurni despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 86th minute Cesar Rojelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Sadurni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When bajada's Joel Gau in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye River Plate's goalie prevented a goal. Joel Gau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the game, River Plate's Cesar Rojelio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Sadurni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. River Plate's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
