Marcial Raymundo might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ovidio Firmin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcial Raymundo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 28th minute, SAN MARTIN DE IRIARTE's Nicanor Baldovino seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Nicanor Baldovino the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SAN MARTIN DE IRIARTE protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Nicanor Baldovino had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
