The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aurelio Honesto during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 5th match minute, Newbery FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurelio Honesto to maneuver through the defense. Aquilino Nuno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeronimo Aznaro in the 8th minute of play. The Newbery FC fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Newbery FC's Aurelio Honesto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lisandro Ferrer in the 19th minute of play forced Newbery FC's goalkeeper Aquilino Nuno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aurelio Honesto had several of the Independiente's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 24 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Ciro Unax as he didn't even see the shot coming. 32 minutes into the game, Aurelio Honesto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ciro Unax. Aurelio Honesto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. In the 37th minute Eulalio Galeno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquilino Nuno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Ciro Unax managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Newbery FC's Aurelio Honesto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermengildo Gartzi in the 41st minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Ciro Unax to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Amador Nuno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciro Unax saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelio Honesto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Unax having to interfere. When Hermengildo Gartzi came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Newbery FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermengildo Gartzi couldn't finish the play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eulalio Galeno to strike the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the game, Independiente's Lisandro Ferrer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aquilino Nuno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Aurelio Honesto hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lisandro Ferrer got free with Aquilino Nuno in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aurelio Honesto in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ciro Unax saved Independiente from getting behind. Jeronimo Aznaro kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeronimo Aznaro in the 77th minute of play forced Newbery FC's goalkeeper Aquilino Nuno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Independiente booed when Newbery FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Dayam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lisandro Ferrers short, quick shot in the 80thth minute got Aquilino Nuno to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Aquilino Nuno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eulalio Galeno, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Aurelio Honesto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Unax came out of the goal and Aurelio Honesto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adrian Blasi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Unax having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Lisandro Ferrer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Lisandro Ferrer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquilino Nuno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Newbery FC's Aquilino Nuno got control of the ball when Cristobal Ayala tried to sneak it across the goal line. Independiente's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
