The Newbery FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After 26 played minutes Newbery FC got a freekick which was hit by Geronimo Elorri. 33 minutes into the game, Newbery FC's Geronimo Elorri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zeledon Rivas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 38th minute, Mariano Loren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aquilino Nuno was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Hermengildo Gartzi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zeledon Rivas. SPortivo Moretti's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Honesto in the 47th minute of play forced SPortivo Moretti's goalkeeper Zeledon Rivas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Mariano Loren made the kick off in the second half. SPortivo Moretti's Zeledon Rivas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geronimo Elorri in the 53rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, SPortivo Moretti's Florentino Lorenz got a free kick in the 56th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Aurelio Honesto notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of SPortivo Moretti's Zeledon Rivas. Zeledon Rivas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, SPortivo Moretti's Zeledon Rivas got control of the ball when Aurelio Honesto tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geronimo Elorri in the 72nd minute of play forced SPortivo Moretti's goalkeeper Zeledon Rivas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aurelio Honesto in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zeledon Rivas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 83 minutes of play, Newbery FC's Aurelio Honesto made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zeledon Rivas was left in no man's land by his defense there! SPortivo Moretti's Zeledon Rivas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save SPortivo Moretti from getting a goal against them. Newbery FC's Geronimo Elorri managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Silvio Fonso in the 90 minute of the game. After having played for 94 minutes, Aurelio Honesto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newbery FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurelio Honesto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Newbery FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
