After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Hermengildo Eguntsenti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leones FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermengildo Eguntsenti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Casimiro Ederono breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Genaro Iraido might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Casimiro Ederono. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Genaro Iraido ran back to his position shaking his head. Sven-Olof Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Guerau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Guerau scored 0-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sven-Olof Hellström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Pedro Guerau came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Roosevelt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Guerau couldn't finish the play. The Leones FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Roosevelt were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Ulises Asteri made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Pedro Guerau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Olof Hellström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Guerau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Sven-Olof Hellström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Roosevelt booed when Leones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laureano Bartoli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leones FC's Sven-Olof Hellström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Leones FC from getting a goal against them.
