The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zeledon Isauro came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Guañizuil's Fábio Passos. But to his dismay, Fábio Passos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 6 minutes into the match, Gorra Boton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Passos came free, but Zeledon Isauro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eustacio Ihintza made in the 11th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Guañizuil's Gaudencio Pasqual. In the 16th minute Fábio Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Isauro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Felix Totakoxe fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gorra Boton FC's protests and gave Felix Totakoxe a yellow card for diving instead. Felix Totakoxe kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the match, Fábio Passos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Zeledon Isauro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Gorra Boton FC's Pedro Suero got a free kick in the 25th minute. Ernesto Cordarell's late challenge caught a Gorra Boton FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernesto Cordarell helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gorra Boton FC booed when Guañizuil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Cordarell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Freddy Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fábio Passos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Zeledon Isauro made a huge save.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fábio Passos to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Gorra Boton FC defense, Fábio Passos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zeledon Isauro. The Gorra Boton FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zeledon Isauro should have stopped the shot. Guañizuil's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Freddy Pedroso scored to the left of an out of position Adilson Ribeiro, making the score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Passos in the 62nd minute of play forced Gorra Boton FC's goalkeeper Zeledon Isauro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Eustacio Ihintza in the 65th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Guañizuil's Gaudencio Pasqual. Gorra Boton FC's Zeledon Isauro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Passos in the 66th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Gorra Boton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Bizi came free, but Zeledon Isauro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeledon Isauro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fábio Passos, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. When Fábio Passos came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Guañizuil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fábio Passos couldn't finish the play. Zeledon Isauro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fábio Passos went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Zeledon Isauro came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Guañizuil's Fábio Passos. But to his dismay, Fábio Passos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Gorra Boton FC's Zeledon Isauro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Passos in the 88th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Passos in the 90th minute of play forced Gorra Boton FC's goalkeeper Zeledon Isauro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 93rd minute of the match Felix Totakoxe completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Felix Totakoxe a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Gorra Boton FC's Felix Totakoxe got a free kick in the 94th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Guañizuil had played much better football throughout.
