The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th match minute, RENOS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Clemencin to maneuver through the defense. Teodoro Buinton acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 9th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Benito Oriol. Teodoro Buinton didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 12th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. If Nicanor Oskarbi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in RENOS FC's zone, Luisito Oton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodoro Buinton came out of the goal and Luisito Oton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute Ceferino Lizar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, RENOS FC's Delmiro Sotero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raimundo Fernandes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 25th minute Delmiro Sotero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicanor Oskarbi in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teodoro Buinton saved RENOS FC from getting behind. In the 29th minute Hernan Orlondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodoro Buinton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute, Amadeo Gaitan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Javier Iban hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, RENOS FC's goalkeeper Teodoro Buinton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luisito Oton. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hernan Orlondo in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teodoro Buinton saved RENOS FC from getting behind. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Delmiro Sotero was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delmiro Sotero in the 52nd minute of play forced Pilar Birds FC's goalkeeper Raimundo Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celestino Telesforo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 54th playminute. Raimundo Fernandes made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Amadeo Gaitan sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicanor Oskarbi in the 58th minute of play forced RENOS FC's goalkeeper Teodoro Buinton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Pilar Birds FC fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Pilar Birds FC's Luisito Oton looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Marcelo Bento came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Pilar Birds FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelo Bento couldn't finish the play. Amadeo Gaitan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Raimundo Fernandes made a huge save. Pilar Birds FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Delmiro Sotero 74 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-3. Raimundo Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Charro in the 79th minute of play. The supporters of RENOS FC booed when Pilar Birds FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amador Eguntsenti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raimundo Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delmiro Sotero in the 87th minute of the match. When Amadeo Gaitan fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RENOS FC's protests and gave Amadeo Gaitan a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, RENOS FC's Amadeo Gaitan got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 96th minute, RENOS FC's Cayetano Maureo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cayetano Maureo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of RENOS FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cayetano Maureo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in RENOS FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 96th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Pilar Birds FC a penalty, 99 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Benito Oriol, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of RENOS FC's Teodoro Buinton. 4-4.
