When Melchor Txeru fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vigilancia FC's protests and gave Melchor Txeru a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Esperanza Maritima booed when Vigilancia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melchor Txeru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sixto Blai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Abadia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Vigilancia FC's zone, Hilario Eneas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sixto Blai came out of the goal and Hilario Eneas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Domingo Abadia kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albino Tancredo in the 31st minute of play forced Esperanza Maritima's goalkeeper Benigno Chico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ladislao Bertins short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Benigno Chico to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Filiberto Micael hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After 45 played minutes Esperanza Maritima got a freekick which was hit by Domingo Abadia. After a defensive mix-up in Esperanza Maritima's zone, Albino Tancredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benigno Chico came out of the goal and Albino Tancredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Albino Tancredo made the kick off in the second half. In the 68th minute, Isaias Larra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ladislao Bertin hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Benigno Chico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albino Tancredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Hilario Eneas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Sixto Blai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
