Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augusto Lain in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hugo Baraquiel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 17th minute Niceto Maurino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Baraquiel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Augusto Lain put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Hugo Baraquiel. Las Tres Niñas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eleuterio Elequemedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
