In the 9th minute Ruben Henry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Pancho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lino Hermon in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Pancho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of River plate booed when Gramilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruben Henry didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lino Hermon in the 22nd minute of play forced River plate's goalkeeper Bruno Pancho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Pancho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lino Hermon went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Mauricio Eguerdi hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Niceto Sarracino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Millano in the 32nd minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, Gramilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruperto Naldo to maneuver through the defense. Felix Millano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerardo Rufo got free with Niceto Sarracino in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of River plate booed when Gramilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Holger Quiñones didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Millano struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Niceto Sarracino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River plate. Bruno Pancho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Hermon, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lino Hermon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bruno Pancho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 1-4 became the score in the 60th minute when Guido Franco elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Felix Millano hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the game, Gramilla's Guido Franco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruno Pancho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. River plate's Bruno Pancho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save River plate from getting a goal against them. The long shot by Inocencio Rodas in the 73rd minute really tested Bruno Pancho's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Bruno Pancho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Henry in the 74th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Gramilla's Ruben Henry got a free kick in the 75th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gramilla had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
