Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 23 minutes into the game, Lino Bermund was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pajaro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mariano Moreno the free kick. Lino Bermund kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Timoteo Elazar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Pajaro's goalkeeper Leandro Gelacio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Higinio Galo. Mariano Moreno's Christian Jobo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timoteo Elazar in the 35th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Mariano Moreno's zone, Valeh Nada stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Jobo came out of the goal and Valeh Nada tried to chip the ball over his head. When Franc Garrincha came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Pajaro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franc Garrincha couldn't finish the play. Mariano Moreno's Christian Jobo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timoteo Elazar in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melquiades Fidele in the 43rd minute of play forced Pajaro's goalkeeper Leandro Gelacio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Pajaro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0.
