Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Segundo Tab got the match started through his kick off. After a rather tough play, Congreso's Hipolito Rioja got a free kick in the 5th minute. When River Plate's Maximo Llorienzo in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Congreso's goalie prevented a goal. Anier Ireno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Segundo Tab, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 12 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Tabor. In the 14th minute, Lorenzo Ignado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnoldo Oro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Segundo Tab was extremely unlucky when he, in the 18th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lorenzo Ignado in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnoldo Oro saved Congreso from getting behind. In the 23rd match minute, Congreso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hipolito Rioja to maneuver through the defense. Aaron Romelio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arnoldo Oro. Congreso's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Vicente Tabor's late challenge caught a Congreso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vicente Tabor helped the player get up and apologised. Vicente Tabor hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Anier Ireno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Segundo Tab, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Benicio Eliazar succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 35th playminute. Arnoldo Oro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximo Llorienzo in the 38th minute of play. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Congreso's goalkeeper Arnoldo Oro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arnoldo Oro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Ignado, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lorenzo Ignado to make the kick off. 65 minutes into the match, Gustavo Laurentzi sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Arnoldo Oro threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Gustavo Laurentzi this time. If Maximo Llorienzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anier Ireno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benicio Eliazar in the 72nd minute of the match. Maximo Llorienzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Oro having to interfere. In the 78th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Godfredo Vasco to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute, Congreso's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lorenzo Ignado fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 85 minutes, Maximo Llorienzo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximo Llorienzo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th minute, Maximo Llorienzo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of River Plate booed when Congreso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Peru didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Congreso's zone, Lorenzo Ignado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnoldo Oro came out of the goal and Lorenzo Ignado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maximo Llorienzo took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnoldo Oro. Arnoldo Oro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. When the match was over River Plate could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Congreso throughout the match.
