C.A.Independiente's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 5th match minute, Cumbita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidro Sabin to maneuver through the defense. If Adolfo Oihenarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elvio Cordearo took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnaldo Fernandes. Arnaldo Fernandes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Cumbita's goal looked a bit too open when Dionisio Lartaun came free, but Arnaldo Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute Elvio Cordearo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Oihenarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 39th play minutes Elvio Cordearo shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Arnaldo Fernandes and just under the crossbar into goal. After 43 minutes of play, C.A.Independiente's Elvio Cordearo made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnaldo Fernandes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Higinio Salvatore in the 58th minute of play forced Cumbita's goalkeeper Arnaldo Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnaldo Fernandes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elvio Cordearo in the 61st minute. Dionisio Lartaun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Cumbita's zone, Elvio Cordearo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnaldo Fernandes came out of the goal and Elvio Cordearo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When %teams%'s Elvio Cordearo was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 0-5 just inside the left pole, 74 minutes into the game. Arnaldo Fernandes was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. C.A.Independiente's Higinio Salvatore quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Victorio Havier, made in the 78th minute of the game. Higinio Salvatore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Fernandes having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Jonas Miro in the 83rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by C.A.Independiente's Elpidio Txilar. If Fabian Maju had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Cumbita's Arnaldo Fernandes got control of the ball when Elvio Cordearo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabian Maju received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Arnaldo Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elvio Cordearo in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnaldo Fernandes saved Cumbita from getting behind. Fabian Maju sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Cumbita fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. C.A.Independiente were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
