The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roberto Osmundo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Hever having to interfere. The supporters of Bover Juniors booed when BOCA JUNIORS LA 12 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Kemen didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Florencio Gimenez in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armando Gitano saved Bover Juniors from getting behind. If Leo Gaueko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Roberto Osmundo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florencio Gimenez in the 26th minute of play forced Bover Juniors's goalkeeper Armando Gitano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, BOCA JUNIORS LA 12's Arnoldo Nabar got a free kick in the 30th minute. BOCA JUNIORS LA 12's Adolfo Hever played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Gaueko in the 33rd minute of play. When BOCA JUNIORS LA 12's Florencio Gimenez in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Damaso Orzaize during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Florencio Gimenez made a kick off. After having played for 56 minutes, Leo Gaueko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bover Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leo Gaueko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Roberto Osmundo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fabricio Gartxot fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bover Juniors's protests and gave Fabricio Gartxot a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of BOCA JUNIORS LA 12 booed when Bover Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Gartxot didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adolfo Hever showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Osmundo, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Leo Gaueko took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adolfo Hever. Adolfo Hever dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Adolfo Hever came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Bover Juniors's Leo Gaueko. But to his dismay, Leo Gaueko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0.
