Humberto-Dionisio Maschio struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Romeo Ritchie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dr Favaloro. If Humberto-Dionisio Maschio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute, Humberto-Dionisio Maschio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 15 minutes, Hermengildo Eutor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Independiente Pigüé and the Dr Favaloro players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hermengildo Eutor kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. If Humberto-Dionisio Maschio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 17 minutes into the match, Club Independiente Pigüé's goalkeeper Romeo Ritchie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Humberto-Dionisio Maschio. After a defensive mix-up in Dr Favaloro's zone, Robustiano Belasko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ubaldo Lore came out of the goal and Robustiano Belasko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ubaldo Lore stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Kimetz's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. In the 34th minute, Severiano Urki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Belasko in the 37th minute of play forced Dr Favaloro's goalkeeper Ubaldo Lore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Joel Kimetz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Humberto-Dionisio Maschio to make the kick off. Michal Dvořák recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joel Kimetz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ubaldo Lore having to interfere. In the 64th minute of the match, Robustiano Belasko tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ubaldo Lore saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 65th minute of the match Victorio Alvarez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ubaldo Lore skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Hermengildo Eutor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Independiente Pigüé's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermengildo Eutor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ubaldo Lore breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joel Kimetz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Dr Favaloro getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Severiano Urki hit a great ball. If Joel Kimetz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Joel Kimetz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Kimetz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ubaldo Lore having to make a save. In the 86th minute Joel Kimetz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ubaldo Lore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alonzo Eleder fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dr Favaloro's protests and gave Alonzo Eleder a yellow card for diving instead. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Dr Favaloro! Eustaquio Jordy shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 94th minute, Joel Kimetz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Independiente Pigüé fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Club Independiente Pigüé's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
