A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Eriberto Errando hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Nalo in the 29th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Isidro Toli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Miguel Nalo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isidro Toli came out of the goal and Miguel Nalo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 43 minutes into the match, Omar Harriet dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jan Brask, 1-0.

Alejandro Curcio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Jan Brask tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Filiberto Chale in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isidro Toli saved Boca Juniors from getting behind. In the 76th minute, Godfredo Petri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Isidro Toli was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 94th minute, Filiberto Chale made a precise shot to the right of Isidro Toli. Boca Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Los Tucu-Tucu played a much better game than Boca Juniors and deserved their victory. The Boca Juniors players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
