Miguel Orlondo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aureliano Llorienzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Hugo Felipo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aureliano Llorienzo in the 33rd minute of play forced Independiente Mza's goalkeeper Miguel Orlondo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Jairo Muc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celso Erlantz was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Aureliano Llorienzo made the kick off in the second half. Jairo Muc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Celso Erlantz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hugo Felipo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Orlondo having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in La Paternal AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! In the 67th minute there was a penalty for Independiente Mza. Claudio Amundarain stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Celso Erlantz. 0-1. If Gavino Maule had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd match minute, La Paternal AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ermegildo Colas to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute, Fulgencio Berdaitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gavino Maule might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Celso Erlantz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gavino Maule ran back to his position shaking his head. Claudio Amundarain was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 79th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jairo Muc was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. Independiente Mza's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gavino Maule received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Celso Erlantz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gavino Maule got free with Celso Erlantz in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jairo Muc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Erlantz having to interfere. Miguel Orlondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aureliano Llorienzo in the 99th minute of the match. When the match was over Independiente Mza could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than La Paternal AFC throughout the match.
