Sportivo Italiano's Justino Marcones played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Einar Põld in the 20th minute of play. Tiburcio Abadie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Víctor Javier Domínguez having to interfere. Tomás Rami's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Víctor Javier Domínguez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Universitario de Tandil getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Dante Fonso hit a great ball. If Henrico Ortega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sportivo Italiano's Justino Marcones played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrico Ortega in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrico Ortega in the 46th minute of play forced Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Justino Marcones to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Universitario de Tandil's Pablo Facundo was substituted for Felix Mano. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henrico Ortega was the one to do the kick off. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Gaspar Blasi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Universitario de Tandil's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaspar Blasi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justino Marcones breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 74 minutes into the match, Tiburcio Abadie had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Víctor Javier Domínguez. Universitario de Tandil's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tiburcio Abadie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After some careless play in the Universitario de Tandil defense, Tomás Rami kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Víctor Javier Domínguez. The Universitario de Tandil fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Víctor Javier Domínguez should have stopped the shot. In the 82nd minute, Sebastian Pedroso made a precise shot to the right of Víctor Javier Domínguez. Universitario de Tandil's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Kelvin Delahide kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guaberto Dalmau in the 88th minute of play forced Universitario de Tandil's goalkeeper Víctor Javier Domínguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 93 in the game by Henrico Ortega from a close distance when the talented Justino Marcones managed to make a qualified save. Sportivo Italiano's players were relieved. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sportivo Italiano fans cheered their team off the field, for while Universitario de Tandil had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
