Roman Bazkoare charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roman Bazkoare the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 12 minutes into the match, BlueSky's Zenon Tarka sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yngve Ödman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Deportivo Iguazu's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Andres Azevedo was slow to take the kick. During this time BlueSky's players had a chance to rest. The corner led BlueSky's Celso Fonso to fire away a dangerous shot which Yngve Ödman despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Andres Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the game, Fausto Txartiko was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Iguazu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BlueSky the free kick. The supporters of BlueSky booed when Deportivo Iguazu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Txartiko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zenon Tarka hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. BlueSky's Zenon Tarka got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andres Azevedo scored 1-0 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yngve Ödman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dalmacio Ponc could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Ferdinand Müssner made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Fernando Ladio managed to get in a good position for a shot. BlueSky's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Ladio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yngve Ödman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernando Ladio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Yngve Ödman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The BlueSky fans cheered their team off the field, for while Deportivo Iguazu had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
