Almería's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arturo Simpson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The audience was convinced that Fernandinho Melo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Facundo Altamirano was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. In the 75th minute Rolando Bento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norbert Pleban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sin control played a much better game than Almería and deserved their victory. The Almería players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
