But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guillermo Barros-Schelloto couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the match, Sin control's Arturo Simpson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sepp Maier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Norbert Pleban didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Ferreira went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimeno Sotero in the 32nd minute of play forced Sin control's goalkeeper Norbert Pleban to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jimeno Sotero took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Norbert Pleban. Norbert Pleban dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 44 minutes into the match, Cristian Ferreira notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Sin control's Norbert Pleban. Norbert Pleban was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Iluminados por El Sensei were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Iluminados por El Sensei made a substitution. Lino Ignatius replaced Luis Palban. Iluminados por El Sensei's Arnoldo Eleder was substituted for Blai Cruz. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guillermo Barros-Schelloto to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Iluminados por El Sensei was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Ignatius to maneuver through the defense. Norbert Pleban came out of the goal and Jimeno Sotero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sepp Maier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristobal Reeves in the 71st minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Arnoldo Eleder made a precise shot to the right of Norbert Pleban. Sin control's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. In the 79th minute Jimeno Sotero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norbert Pleban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnoldo Eleder could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Norbert Pleban made a huge save. Jimeno Sotero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Norbert Pleban tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Iluminados por El Sensei supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Iluminados por El Sensei would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
