A collision led to Milano getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Mario Llorian hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the game, Emanuel Gigliotti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saint Etienne FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Milano the free kick. An unexpected shot in the 16th minute by Nereo Raymon got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers German Ixona in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudio Normando saved Saint Etienne FC from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nereo Raymon got free with Claudio Normando in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 27th minute, Mario Llorian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 45 minutes, German Ixona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Milano's supporters crossed their fingers, but German Ixona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tolek Wojno made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Maximino Errapel notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Milano's Teobaldo Dominguez. Teobaldo Dominguez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Claudio Normando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from German Ixona, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tolek Wojno in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teobaldo Dominguez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emanuel Gigliotti scored 1-3 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Teobaldo Dominguez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 89 minutes of play, Saint Etienne FC's Tolek Wojno made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teobaldo Dominguez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Maximino Errapel let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 94th minute shot 2-5 at rihgt post. The Saint Etienne FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Saint Etienne FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
