Pastor Noriega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvio Sidro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Alvarado's Alberto Mikelar got control of the ball when Pastor Quiroga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wilfredo Domeka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Silvio Sidro in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pastor Noriega saved Escalada City FC from getting behind. 28 minutes into the game, Jairo Ovando was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Escalada City FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alvarado the free kick. Pastor Noriega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvio Sidro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 34th minute of the match Jairo Ovando completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jairo Ovando a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 35th minute, Jairo Ovando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of Escalada City FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Alvarado:s goal. Silvio Sidro struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Pastor Noriega didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alvarado.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silvio Sidro was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Alvarado's Santiago Franco got a free kick in the 51st minute. Alvarado's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. In the 78th minute, Alvarado's Wilfredo Domeka dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. 82 minutes into the match, Alvarado's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Quiroga came free, but Alberto Mikelar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santiago Franco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pastor Noriega having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silvio Sidro got free with Pastor Noriega in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 87th minute, Silvio Sidro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Orlando Hodei hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregorio Frichoso in the 89th minute of play forced Alvarado's goalkeeper Alberto Mikelar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Onbera hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Alvarado's Silvio Sidro got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Escalada City FC booed when Alvarado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Cibran didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Alvarado could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Escalada City FC throughout the match.
