Azterian FC's Filomeno Cerilo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 15th minute, Pastor Quiroga made a precise shot to the right of Filomeno Cerilo. Azterian FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Escalada City FC's goalkeeper Pastor Noriega, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Pastor Quiroga came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Escalada City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pastor Quiroga couldn't finish the play. Gregorio Frichoso's late challenge caught a Azterian FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filomeno Cerilo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Azterian FC's zone, Cesar Columbo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filomeno Cerilo came out of the goal and Cesar Columbo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pastor Quiroga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filomeno Cerilo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. When Pastor Quiroga fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Escalada City FC's protests and gave Pastor Quiroga a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Azterian FC booed when Escalada City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pastor Quiroga didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Escalada City FC's Celso Onbera got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Filomeno Cerilo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Quiroga, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The supporters of Escalada City FC booed when Azterian FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicanor Ospin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filomeno Cerilo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pastor Quiroga went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. In the 96th minute Pedro Endira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Noriega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Escalada City FC played a much better game than Azterian FC and deserved their victory. The Azterian FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
