They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hector Gotzon to make the kick off. Godofredo Lucian scored 0-7 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcelo Montrel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. EVERTON de CHILE's Marcelo Montrel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save EVERTON de CHILE from getting a goal against them. 59 minutes into the match, EVERTON de CHILE's goal looked a bit too open when Stefano Wilhelm came free, but Marcelo Montrel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of LA MERCED F.C. booed when EVERTON de CHILE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robustiano Santo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guido Rolado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelo Montrel having to make a save. LA MERCED F.C. played a much better game than EVERTON de CHILE and deserved their victory. The EVERTON de CHILE players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
