The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Angel Jon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clemente Rubio went, in the 2nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. John Glad did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Angel Jon 5 minutes into the match. In the 16th match minute, PoRtUgAl hOcKeY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Cordario to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruben Gentza in the 17th minute of play forced PoRtUgAl hOcKeY's goalkeeper Angel Jon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute of the match, Clemente Rubio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Angel Jon was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, PoRtUgAl hOcKeY's Lisandro Goyo got a free kick in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the match, PoRtUgAl hOcKeY's goalkeeper Angel Jon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clemente Rubio. Orvar Bäckström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Primitivo Enetz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Primitivo Enetz in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Orvar Bäckström saved Basavilbaso FC from getting behind. John Glad received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Angel Jon came out and tried to block the shot, but John Glad slotted it home off the left post making it 7-0 in the 38th minute. In the 41st play minute Inocencio Guerrero came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Angel Jon. 8-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clemente Rubio got free with Angel Jon in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 46 minutes into the game, Ceferino Quirce was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PoRtUgAl hOcKeY's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Basavilbaso FC the free kick.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Primitivo Enetz was the one to do the kick off. Cristian Iraido kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After some careless play in the PoRtUgAl hOcKeY defense, Henric Springfält kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angel Jon. The PoRtUgAl hOcKeY fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angel Jon should have stopped the shot. John Glad took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angel Jon. Angel Jon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. Lisandro Goyo lost his temper 60 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 61st match minute, PoRtUgAl hOcKeY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lisandro Goyo to maneuver through the defense. When Casimiro Patxi came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Basavilbaso FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Casimiro Patxi couldn't finish the play. In the 67th minute, John Glad ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angel Jon was frozen by the shot and now it was 12-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Rubio in the 77th minute of play forced PoRtUgAl hOcKeY's goalkeeper Angel Jon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Clemente Rubio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angel Jon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angel Jon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henric Springfält in the 82nd minute of the match. PoRtUgAl hOcKeY's Angel Jon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henric Springfält in the 90th minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, PoRtUgAl hOcKeY's goal looked a bit too open when Henric Springfält came free, but Angel Jon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, PoRtUgAl hOcKeY's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Gentza came free, but Angel Jon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basavilbaso FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
