The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes, João Francisco Jacinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The supporters of Lima FC booed when Soledad AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Francisco Jacinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teobaldo Karmel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramon Mel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niceto Micael in the 18th minute of play. In the 24th match minute, Lima FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sindo Martinez to maneuver through the defense. If Romulo Herrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute, Arndt Spiller ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ramon Mel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 30 played minutes Lima FC got a freekick which was hit by Sindo Martinez. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teobaldo Karmel got free with Anthony Di Giandomenico in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anthony Di Giandomenico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romulo Herrera, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. With a little luck, Lima FC's Anthony Di Giandomenico got control of the ball when Teobaldo Karmel tried to sneak it across the goal line.

Angel Admon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Mel having to interfere. Alonzo Mendizabal took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ramon Mel. Ramon Mel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Angel Admon received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ramon Mel came out and tried to block the shot, but Angel Admon slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 72nd minute. 75 minutes into the game, Angel Admon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Ramon Mel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eustaquio Lucado struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Anthony Di Giandomenico didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Soledad AFC. 83 minutes into the game, Niceto Micael cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Ramon Mel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Rumaldo in the 88th minute of play forced Lima FC's goalkeeper Anthony Di Giandomenico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Soledad AFC's Augusto Rumaldo got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Teobaldo Karmel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anthony Di Giandomenico having to interfere. The Lima FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lima FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
