The corner led Atlético San Martín's Fabricio Sauveur to fire away a dangerous shot which Abner Pavon despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atilano Neto in the 28th minute of play forced Atlético San Martín's goalkeeper Rigoberto Jerano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antonio Quilino during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Atlético San Martín's Antonio Quilino got a free kick in the 29th minute. Melquiades Gaxan hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Fabricio Sauveurs short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Abner Pavon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabricio Sauveur made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Rompe Opis's Anacleto Orlanda got a free kick in the 50th minute. In the 52nd match minute, Sportivo Rompe Opis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by René Barthez to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute, Jacinto Ariztimuño made a precise shot to the right of Abner Pavon. Sportivo Rompe Opis's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Isaias Huly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Rompe Opis's René Barthez got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 74 played minutes Atlético San Martín got a freekick which was hit by Prospero Haitz. Jacinto Ariztimuño's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abner Pavon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, Fabricio Sauveur cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Abner Pavon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Ariztimuño in the 87th minute of play forced Sportivo Rompe Opis's goalkeeper Abner Pavon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Sportivo Rompe Opis getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Atilano Neto hit a great ball. 90 minutes into the match, Fabricio Sauveur had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abner Pavon. Sportivo Rompe Opis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabricio Sauveur was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. When the referee ended the match the Atlético San Martín players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
