Adan Marin charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adan Marin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Platense booed when Scotland 1873 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adan Marin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramiro Cortez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikos Papadamou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nemesio Gurutz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adan Marin in the 14th minute of play. With his leg Ramiro Cortez managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Platense's Nikos Papadamou fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 22 played minutes Scotland 1873 got a freekick which was hit by Dante Elorri. Ramiro Cortez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikos Papadamou in the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of Scotland 1873 booed when Platense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Cayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Scotland 1873's Adan Marin in action when he in the 28th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adan Marin in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nemesio Gurutz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 35 minutes, Aldo Lope managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scotland 1873's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aldo Lope was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ramiro Cortez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nikos Papadamou in the 39th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nikos Papadamou in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramiro Cortez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Cristo Ipar fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Platense's protests and gave Cristo Ipar a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Platense getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Cristo Ipar hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute of the match Adan Marin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nemesio Gurutz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nikos Papadamou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ramiro Cortez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 45 played minutes Nikos Papadamou rounded Scotland 1873's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Braulio Dalmau hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Nikos Papadamou managed to get in a good position for a shot. Platense's supporters rose to their feet, but Nikos Papadamou was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramiro Cortez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th minute Aldo Lope shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nemesio Gurutz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Breno Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute, Nikos Papadamou left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Platense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adan Marin in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nemesio Gurutz saved Platense from getting behind. 69 minutes into the match, Scotland 1873's goal looked a bit too open when Nikos Papadamou came free, but Ramiro Cortez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oscar Danel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Ramiro Cortez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramiro Cortez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Ayala, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Scotland 1873's Ramiro Cortez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Ayala in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th match minute, Scotland 1873 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Oro to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Platense booed when Scotland 1873 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Pinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Platense's Nikos Papadamou in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ramiro Cortez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikos Papadamou in the 95th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Platense had played much better football throughout.
