Israel Ovando made in the 15th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Omar Iban. When Nikos Papadamou came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Platense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nikos Papadamou couldn't finish the play. Platense's Nemesio Gurutz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximo Onbera in the 93rd minute of play. Epifanio Cristofor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Nemesio Gurutz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Braulio Dalmau's late challenge caught a Samuhi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Braulio Dalmau helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Platense:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Samuhi:s goal. The Samuhi supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Platense's performance. The match ended with a win for Platense.
