Spectators: 7478 (Terracing: 5633, Seating: 1700, VIP seats: 145) Anibal Herensuge started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ayacucho's goalkeeper Nemesio Urdin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 12 minutes, Desiderio Sein mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aldao and the Ayacucho players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Aldao's Desiderio Sein got a free kick in the 13th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Remicio in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Uriel Gonsalve saved Aldao from getting behind. Lucio Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Aldao were furious when Iker Nastasio was red carded, 25 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Aldao:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ayacucho:s goal. 26 minutes into the match, Mauricio Garoa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Uriel Gonsalve. Aldao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mauricio Garoa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Uriel Gonsalve made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Miguel Remicio sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute Ayacucho were awarded a corner. Mauricio Garoa went to the cornerflag to take it. Ayacucho's Mauricio Garoa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Uriel Gonsalve in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Uriel Gonsalve made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anibal Herensuge in the 31st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Miguel Remicio took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Uriel Gonsalve to make any attempt to save it. In the 36th minute, Salvador Domeka ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Uriel Gonsalve was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Uriel Gonsalve took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Herensuge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nemesio Urdin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horacio Ilazki in the 42nd minute of the match. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ayacucho! In the 44th minute there was a penalty for Aldao. Elias Nofre stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nemesio Urdin. 3-2. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Desiderio Sein was the one to do the kick off. Aldao succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ayacucho had controlled the match.
