Luis Elodio made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Eliseo Pirro sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Epifanio Tuste in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osoitz Rescuro saved Bahia Sporting Club from getting behind. In the 13thth minute of the game Epifanio Tuste who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bahia Sporting Club's Osoitz Rescuro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Bahia Sporting Club's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Lehior came free, but Osoitz Rescuro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Lehior recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eliseo Pirro struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Luis Elodio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bahia Sporting Club. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Lehior in the 20th minute of play forced Bahia Sporting Club's goalkeeper Osoitz Rescuro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Epifanio Tuste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luis Elodio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eliseo Pirro in the 26th minute. When Albino Vagrande came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Bahia Sporting Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albino Vagrande couldn't finish the play. Luis Elodio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eliseo Pirro in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute Epifanio Tuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osoitz Rescuro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Epifanio Tuste fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osoitz Rescuro having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Bahia Sporting Club's Darell Beltre dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Gilberto Guillem took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Luis Elodio to make any attempt to save it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Epifanio Tuste stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luis Elodio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Guillem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bahia Sporting Club's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
