Domingo Galeno hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henri-Xavier Lenaerts in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horacio Goi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Pedro Padro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 24 minutes, Henri-Xavier Lenaerts managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mata Tangas de Victoria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henri-Xavier Lenaerts was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Horacio Goi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remigiusz Sroka, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonatan Etxekopar in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabrizio Catapano saved Mata Tangas de Victoria from getting behind. Fabrizio Catapano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Leguizamón in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Narciso Raebert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Henri-Xavier Lenaerts struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Horacio Goi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mata Tangas de Victoria. Sotos Kastaniou's late challenge caught a Azzurro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sotos Kastaniou helped the player get up and apologised. After 45 played minutes Mata Tangas de Victoria got a freekick which was hit by Sotos Kastaniou. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
