When Amado Rioja, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 14 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Zeledon Mateus was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 15 minutes, Tadeo Jordy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Otumpa and the La Acade players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tadeo Jordy hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Zeledon Mateus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amado Rioja, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. When Martin Mano fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Otumpa's protests and gave Martin Mano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th minute, Martin Mano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Otumpa's goal looked a bit too open when Amado Rioja came free, but Zeledon Mateus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgilio Manny's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Zeledon Mateus firmly grabbed it by the left post. After some careless play in the Otumpa defense, Virgilio Manny kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zeledon Mateus. The Otumpa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zeledon Mateus should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Otumpa booed when La Acade was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Ralondo didn't get a good kick on the ball. La Acade's Virgilio Manny came free and shot a quick shot against goal 29 minutes in the game, fortunately Zeledon Mateus had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Virgilio Manny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Amado Rioja got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rene Oalo charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rene Oalo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th minute, Rene Oalo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Otumpa's zone, Amado Rioja stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeledon Mateus came out of the goal and Amado Rioja tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd match minute, Otumpa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reynaldo Ilixo to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgilio Manny got free with Zeledon Mateus in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amado Rioja made a kick off. Amado Rioja took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zeledon Mateus. Zeledon Mateus dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Zeledon Mateus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kazım Barbaros in the 59th minute of play. Amado Rioja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Mateus having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amado Rioja in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zeledon Mateus saved Otumpa from getting behind. Virgilio Manny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Mateus having to interfere. Amado Rioja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeledon Mateus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amado Rioja in the 80th minute of the match. Zeledon Mateus didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Virgilio Manny went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. 86 minutes into the match, Otumpa's goal looked a bit too open when Virgilio Manny came free, but Zeledon Mateus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Amado Rioja had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amado Rioja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Mateus having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Virgilio Manny managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Acade's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgilio Manny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeledon Mateus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Tadeo Jordy was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 99 minutes had been played. In the 101st match minute, Otumpa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadeo Jordy to maneuver through the defense.
