In the 7th minute, Cristian Evangelista reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcelo Amundarain. The goal made the score 1-0. Marcelo Amundarain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Evangelista in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, River Plate.'s Andres Gai got a free kick in the 39th minute. When Alfonso Dolfos came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Liquid Spirit fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso Dolfos couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute Wen Wei Kun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mo Chen Yang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfonso Dolfos was the one to do the kick off. The ball had pretty good speed, but Mo Chen Yang firmly grabbed it by the left post. After some careless play in the Liquid Spirit defense, Jonas Anselius kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelo Amundarain. The Liquid Spirit fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Amundarain should have stopped the shot.
