Spectators: 6663 (Terracing: 5663, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Arturo Inocente started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in La Palmira F.C's zone, Ariel Ortega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Javier Florian came out of the goal and Ariel Ortega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arturo Inocente during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Javier Florian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Inocente in the 15th minute of play. Isidro Millano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Castelar F.C.'s Arnulfo Piarres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidro Millano in the 18th minute of play. Javier Florian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ariel Ortega in the 21st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Isidro Millano put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Arnulfo Piarres. Javier Florian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Inocente, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When Paolo Blanco fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Palmira F.C's protests and gave Paolo Blanco a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of La Palmira F.C booed when Castelar F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaias Derwin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Javier Florian came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Castelar F.C.'s Arturo Inocente. But to his dismay, Arturo Inocente quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Generoso Rudolfo made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Generoso Rudolfo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Piarres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnulfo Piarres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Generoso Rudolfo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, German Senen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castelar F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but German Senen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Javier Florian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Generoso Rudolfo came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the La Palmira F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Generoso Rudolfo couldn't finish the play. Ariel Ortega could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Javier Florian made a huge save. Arnulfo Piarres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Generoso Rudolfo, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Javier Florian successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Arturo Inocente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute, Romeo Abar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Javier Florian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Inocente in the 80th minute of play. Roland Jakisz hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. When German Senen fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Castelar F.C.'s protests and gave German Senen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Castelar F.C. getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. German Senen hit a great ball. Castelar F.C.'s Arnulfo Piarres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Generoso Rudolfo in the 86th minute of play. Arnulfo Piarres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Generoso Rudolfo in the 94th minute of play. Castelar F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
