Arnulfo Piarres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baldomero Lapurdi's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. In the 5th minute Nuevo Horizonte were awarded a corner. David Gagriel went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Baldomero Lapurdi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arnulfo Piarres quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Lapurdi in the 9th minute of play forced Castelar F.C.'s goalkeeper Arnulfo Piarres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute Baldomero Lapurdi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Piarres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Nuevo Horizonte's Tiburcio Chorache got a free kick in the 15th minute. After having played for 16 minutes, Ariel Ortega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castelar F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Ariel Ortega was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, Baldomero Lapurdi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnulfo Piarres was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Arnulfo Piarres didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Baldomero Lapurdi went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Castelar F.C.'s Arnulfo Piarres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomero Lapurdi in the 31st minute of play. When Nuevo Horizonte's Baldomero Lapurdi in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Castelar F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Tiburcio Chorache took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnulfo Piarres. Arnulfo Piarres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 40 minutes into the match, Nuevo Horizonte's goal looked a bit too open when Romeo Abar came free, but Tiburcio Egoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ariel Ortega took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tiburcio Egoi. Tiburcio Egoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ariel Ortega got free with Tiburcio Egoi in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 47th minute Tiburcio Chorache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Piarres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Chorache in the 56th minute of play forced Castelar F.C.'s goalkeeper Arnulfo Piarres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiburcio Egoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeo Abar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. German Senen scored 2-3 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tiburcio Egoi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Castelar F.C. booed when Nuevo Horizonte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nemesio Meder didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Ariel Ortega cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Tiburcio Egoi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arnulfo Piarres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baldomero Lapurdi, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Arnulfo Piarres was a little too slow when Tiburcio Chorache got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 3-4. If Arturo Inocente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 84 minutes into the match, Tiburcio Chorache notched a goal, 3-5, to the right of Castelar F.C.'s Arnulfo Piarres. Arnulfo Piarres was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Nuevo Horizonte booed when Castelar F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. German Senen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, Gregorio Mendez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Castelar F.C.'s Arnulfo Piarres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomero Lapurdi in the 93rd minute of play. The Nuevo Horizonte supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nuevo Horizonte would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
