Benicio Felipillo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Eguzki's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Eustacio Rojelio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Cruzeiro Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. Nemesio Quinteros took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eustacio Rojelio. Eustacio Rojelio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rene Gartzen in the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Freddy Olayo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eustacio Rojelio. The goal made the score 0-2. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when MONARCAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Procopio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Arnaldo Bazil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaldo Bazil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benicio Felipillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Alejo in the 75th minute of play forced Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Eustacio Rojelio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severino Eguzki in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benicio Felipillo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The MONARCAS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MONARCAS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
