Feliciano Ibar struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Nicky Weaver didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 乂丨 爪ㄩ乇尺ㄒㄖ丂 千.匚.. Andrea Carnevale might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicky Weaver. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gonzalo Berriotxoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Nicky Weaver tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edelmiro Valiente charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. If Feliciano Ibar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrea Carnevale received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nicky Weaver came out and tried to block the shot, but Andrea Carnevale slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
