The Velez Sport Club fans' excitement grew in the 4th match minute when Velez Sport Club's Bassi Gol looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bassi Gol in the 10th minute of play forced XEI NEI XE FC's goalkeeper Oscar Gombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Felipo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Oscar Gombal made a huge save. In the 12th match minute, XEI NEI XE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Israel Havier to maneuver through the defense. Bassi Gol's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Oscar Gombal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Velez Sport Club's zone, Genaro Medina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucas Arnau came out of the goal and Genaro Medina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 21 minutes, Lino Tonete managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Velez Sport Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lino Tonete was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Hermengildo Fernandes notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Velez Sport Club's Lucas Arnau. Lucas Arnau was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 26 minutes into the match, XEI NEI XE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bassi Gol came free, but Oscar Gombal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute Lino Tonete shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Gombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. XEI NEI XE FC's Oscar Gombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bassi Gol in the 30th minute of play. After 41st play minutes Hermengildo Fernandes shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Lucas Arnau and just under the crossbar into goal. Lucas Arnau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro Medina, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bassi Gol to make the kick off. When Placido Gutierrez came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the XEI NEI XE FC fans jumped to their feet.
