The audience thought a goal was coming when Cirilo Lekubegi got free with Vinicio Cordareo in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Deportivo Scalonetta's Vinicio Cordareo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Scalonetta from getting a goal against them. Deportivo Scalonetta were furious when Leandro Burni was red carded, 20 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 20 minutes into the game, one of Deportivo Scalonetta:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a rather tough play, Alumbrera 's Zeledon Gitano got a free kick in the 31st minute. 33 minutes into the game, Gu Yuan Rong recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vinicio Cordareo. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gu Yuan Rong couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Deportivo Scalonetta defense, Hector Urtsin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vinicio Cordareo. The Deportivo Scalonetta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vinicio Cordareo should have stopped the shot. In the 92nd minute, Cirilo Lekubegi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Alumbrera fully deserved thier win.
