Victor Santana came out of the goal and Hélio de Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 13 in the game by Leonides Rumaldo from a close distance when the talented Victor Santana managed to make a qualified save. RAINBOW FUTBOL CLUB's players were relieved. RAINBOW FUTBOL CLUB's Victor Santana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save RAINBOW FUTBOL CLUB from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the San Martín defense, Cecilio Lano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomáš Pollák. The San Martín fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomáš Pollák should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nestor Pirro during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd match minute, RAINBOW FUTBOL CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Pirro to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonides Rumaldo got free with Victor Santana in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 40 minutes into the game, San Martín's Leonides Rumaldo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victor Santana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 43rd minute, Uriel Ubarna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonides Rumaldo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Victor Santana when he managed to save the team from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Cecilio Lano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomáš Pollák was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The audience was convinced that Leonides Rumaldo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victor Santana was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. After 60 minutes, Sixto Silban mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Martín and the RAINBOW FUTBOL CLUB players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cecilio Lano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Timoteo Cheche received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tomáš Pollák came out and tried to block the shot, but Timoteo Cheche slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 62nd minute. Leo Santio kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Cecilio Lano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomáš Pollák having to interfere. Cecilio Lano came free with the goalkeeper in the 72nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tomáš Pollák could save by the left post. Tomáš Pollák took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timoteo Cheche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leo Santio hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After having played for 83 minutes, Leonides Rumaldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Martín's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonides Rumaldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leonides Rumaldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Victor Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hélio de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 92nd minute of the match, Timoteo Cheche tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tomáš Pollák saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The San Martín manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing RAINBOW FUTBOL CLUB to win.
