The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 13th minute Guillermo Janpier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justo Laurentzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Ekialde. 19 minutes into the match, Guillermo Janpier dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Justo Laurentzi, 2-0. In the 22nd minute, Amador Xacintu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aquiles Rojelio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. Justo Laurentzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Casas's goal looked a bit too open when Guillermo Janpier came free, but Justo Laurentzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 36th play minutes Guillermo Janpier shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Justo Laurentzi and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 41st minute, Teofilo Formerio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Justo Laurentzi. The goal made the score 5-0. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Santos Frasco hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as River Plate's Feliciano Playo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Justo Laurentzi. That made the score 6-0 after 46 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guillermo Janpier was the one to do the kick off. Justo Laurentzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Feliciano Playo in the 54th minute of play. Guillermo Janpier succeeded in the game's 56th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 7-0. Guillermo Janpier scored 8-0 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Justo Laurentzi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 63 minutes into the game, River Plate's Guillermo Janpier nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Justo Laurentzi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. In the 69th minute, Feliciano Playo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thanks to some nice moves Hermengildo Goren could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Paolo Rafel however easily saved by the left post. After 77 minutes River Plate's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hermengildo Goren who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Casas's corner Hermengildo Goren fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Paolo Rafel quite easily take care of the ball. Casas's Justo Laurentzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edelmiro Montxo in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Casas's goal looked a bit too open when Feliciano Playo came free, but Justo Laurentzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Justo Laurentzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Rojelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aquiles Rojelio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Alejandro Chumo charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alejandro Chumo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. River Plate made a substitution. Aristides Ranolfo replaced Erasmo Viator. In the 94th match minute, Casas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Chumo to maneuver through the defense. Justo Laurentzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Janpier in the 96th minute of play. River Plate's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
