Claudio Soteros short, quick shot in the 21stth minute got Georgi Velinov to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 23 minutes into the game, Bahia's Sandro Koehler nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matias Frutos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The audience was convinced that Sandro Koehler's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matias Frutos was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. A collision led to Apeleg getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Bahia's Georgi Velinov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Lucero in the 62nd minute of play. Georgi Velinov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Sotero in the 64th minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, Apeleg's Paulo Argina nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
